MARCH 1965

The history of the company begins in March 1965 when the founder Faustino Ferrari starts the road transport activity on behalf of third parties, joined by his nephew Daniele. After ten years
Since the early 1970s, Germani has been one of the leading companies in the national market for the transport of liquid and solid chemical products. In 1995, Mauro, Faustino’s son, also joined the Board of directors.

2000

IN 2000, GERMANI SELLS PART OF THE SHARES TO ARCESE TRANSPORTI, STARTING A MULTI-ANNUAL AND LASTING RELATIONSHIP.

Over the past decade, Germani has successfully extended its services in the domestic and foreign market in the transport of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste and the management of activities intended for the transport of cryogenic gases.

2008

IN 2008 THE COMPANY SELLS 70% OF THE CAPITAL TO THE WISE INVESTMENT FUND.

2013

THE COMPANY BUYS 70% OF THE CAPITAL FROM THE WISE INVESTMENT FUND.

Following this operation, the company reverted to the old corporate structure which sees it run by the Ferrari and Arcese families.

Ferrari, born in 1938, shortly before the crisis had sold 70% of Germani‘s share capital to the Wise investment fund and for five years he remained on the board of directors of the San Zeno Naviglio company as a minority shareholder. At the beginning of the year, however, via a newco, he (re)became the sole shareholder of Germani; an acquisition in which it found the support, not only economic, of a privileged partner: Arcese from Trento, a giant in the sector.

From the headquarters of San Zeno, no one intends to reveal the details of the operation. Credentialed sources say Ferrari’s return to the company was planned by his son Mauro. This indiscretion is confirmed by the fact that Ferrari junior is the sole director of Megrani srl, owner – since mid-January – of all Germani shares.

2020

THE VECCHI AND ZIRO FAMILIES – MAJORITY SHAREHOLDERS OH TRASPORTI VECCHI-ZIRONI – AND GERMANI SIGN A LONG-TEAM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP.

The operation will allow the historic Reggio Emilia company to implement an important development plan based on environmental sustainability fully shared by Germani.

“After years of excellent relations, we have no doubt that Vecchi&Zironi represents the ideal partner to enable the consolidation of our Group’s activities”, declared Mauro Ferrari, CEO and shareholder of Germani. “I am confident that after the transaction, we will be able to capture the best aspects of each business for the purpose of an effective integration that can generate significant synergies for both. With this partnership, we will be able to strengthen our offer in the intermodal transport sector related to waste and recycled materials, also thanks to the significant progress in terms of environmental sustainability that we expect from this project”.

2021 GWA

Just one year after a forward-looking idea, the creation of the new road transport hub and an “Exclusive Academy” are born in Germani West Africa. A New reality of the Ferrari and Arcese families.
At the end of the construction, scheduled for January 2023, the new site will be able to count on an operational base of 5 hectares and a privileged position less than 5km from Dakar airport.
A very difficult new challenge that Germani S.p.A. has quickly caught on thanks also to the entry of the recent graduate Andrea Ferrari as the first interlocutor of this project.
